Former Times journalist and author Vanora Bennett, talks about her highly intelligent new work of historical fiction Portrait Of An Unknown Woman. Just as Tate Britain hosts a major Holbein in England exhibition, so Portrait of An Unknown Woman novel is an insightful look at Hans Holbiens' portraits, his time living with Thomas More set against the political upheaval of Sixteenth Century England. This stunning debut is set to follow in the footsteps of Tracy Chevalier's Girl With A Pearl Earring.
Vanora Bennett is a former conflict journalist for Reuters, and has been a freelance writer for national press, including The Times, Evening Standard, Observer, TLS and Daily Mail amongst others.
